The licence

Macro Notes is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), which applies in full to your use of the app. We publish no separate licence of our own, so the Standard EULA is the agreement between us.

Subscriptions

The AI assistant is a paid feature. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account, renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed — including cancellation — in your Apple Account settings rather than by us. Prices and periods shown in the app come from the App Store and are the ones that apply.

About the numbers

Macro Notes prices what you type against published food composition data — principally the UK’s CoFID dataset and USDA FoodData Central — and against nutrition figures transcribed from product packaging. Where it cannot match what you wrote, it shows a dash rather than a guess.

Even so, the figures are estimates of what you ate, not measurements of it. The app is a food diary and not a medical device: nothing in it is medical, dietary or clinical advice, and it should not be relied on to manage a health condition. Talk to a qualified professional about anything that matters.

Your content

Your diary is yours and stays on your device — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what does and does not leave your phone. Food labels you choose to submit are contributed to the shared catalogue, with no personal data attached, so that other people can use them too.
